Styling My DRL'S

Ahh fair enough, but IMO they look enough like DRLs to call them that even if they only come on at night. So maybe they are NRLs :D

xlTomm I still dont get why you didn't stick them on the fog light trim. You say you cant but why not?

They do not appear to be DRL compliant, must go off or dim when headlamps are on.

Are they correctly 'E' marked

Are they legal then? I really hope not, fog lights are enough of a pain at night without these things popping up everywhere (not intended to be a rant at the op btw).

If not correctly 'E' marked, and if they are correctly 'E' marked as DRls they're not wired up to operate in conjunction with DRL regs so won't conform to construction of use / Lighting regs.

I would hazzard a guess that they arn't road legal probably fall under the same police mans opinion of under car neons

even the small position marker lights on a large trailer or caravan have to be (e) marked

I saw quite a few cars on the way home with headlights on and DRLs on (they didn't look like they were dimmed)

One of them was a DS3 which famously has DRLs, one looked like a mondeo.

It looks to me like these cars don't turn off the DRLs automatically (cant confirm this, never driven a ds3 or mondeo) and it seems like one of those laws most people either don't know about (I didn't know this until today) or simply ignore

Maybe it would have been better to wire them up to the fag lighter and got a button to turn them on and off separately.

DS3 turn off completely, so more likely the idiot driving hadn't turned their headlights on. I think most Fords go off as well, but not 100% sure.

Fine for off road use, still won't comply for on road use though.

Not having a dig BTW, just don't want people becoming croppers with the coppers.

The dlrs on my dad's Alfa dim automatically when the lights are on, I'm sure they all do that (if they don't turn off altogether).
