Hope somebody can help.
I'm having a problem with the drivers electric window on my 06 grande punto.
The switch doesn't work- window is thankfully stuck in up position. The mirror and passenger window controls work fine.
I taken a loon at the body to door loom and it looks fine, I have also cleaned up the actual switch contacts with contact spray but still nothing.
The switch lights up but when I try the switch the light goes off then appears back a few seconds later.
Anyone gave any ideas?
Could it be a fuse?
Or do I need a new switch unit?
Loathed to take it in to a dealer of I can fix it myself.

What makes you think that? Is it because the light is going off and on?

I took the switch mech out and put it back together but like you say it could be the actual circuit board that's faulty.
I will prob try eBay lithe you suggest unless anybody else cones up with any theories, thanks.

My wiring looked fined intil i took the whole loom out and removed the rubber sleeve that connects from the door to the car body. 5 wires were split in half.

I soldered them back together and heat shrink wrapped them then taped them.

Everything worked again after.

It was either spend £12 on a soldering iron (the dealer told me how to fix it and even gave me the heat shrink for free) as opposed to paying over £200 for a new wiring loom.
