Hello all, I have a 1.4 8v '56 plate 5 door dynamic, I have an issue where by under heavy acceleration, away from a stand still mainly, going from full throttle, to change gear and full throttle again, there is a lag of about 1 second before it recognises full throttle again. Is this just normal for a fly by wire throttle or is it an issue with my car? Thanks all :)

Hi I have exactly the same problem usually going from 2nd to 3rd, let me know if you find a solution

Mine notices the first full throttle, ie in first, but if i do a really quick change to second and mash the throttle again, it doesnt respond quickly... If i am slow with the application of throttle into the next gear its all right and does as its told. Part of me wants nothing to be wrong (cheaper :p) but i cant believe fiat sold cars that were so clearly flawed in their operation...

I put a ported and polished throttle body on, and its the same... I think it Might just be how fly by wire throttles are :s

LOL at the first few posts in this thread (the guide, not THIS thread)

OP have you tried this? And other dude who cleaned the TB, did you try this?

Mine has no lag at all. :)

EDIT: Also regarding fast gear changes, the gearbox is terrible and it isn't a performance car, what do you expect? If you change gear quick without applying relevant throttle then of course the revs will drop and it will take a while to pick up.

Just to clarify its when the next gear has already engaged that the lag occurs, so I doubt its gearbox related. And only when going from high rpm, ie 6300 then changing and immediately going to full throttle again.. if I apply the throttle gently it doesnt happen... which means it isnt a massive problem for driving quickly.. but could indicate an underlying problem.
