Help,
I went out to start my car this morning and when i turned the key it was clicking and the needles on the dash were flicking and dashboard lights coming on and off.... It eventually started, so in the brainy idea that i wasnt sure if it would start again i turned it off to see if it did it again... Guess what, it did, and now it wont start.... Whats wrong?

I can't help, but to save you some time what car and model is it, specifically?

Based on what you have said, its most probably a dead/old battery

How old is the car, what car and engine is it, what do you use it for (long or short journeys)

Potentially could be other things, but it would point to a knackered battery, the catching the first time just and nothing else after are good indicators

Hi, It is a Punto Grande 1.2... I had the alternator changed last week, could this be the problem, wrong alternator? If i try jump starting it tonight should that let me know if it is the battery?

I had the same problem back in December, if you can stick the battery on a charger or better still, have the battery checked over and if the recommendation is a new battery mate get one.

I mean if you can get the car started then take the car on a good drive to try and charge the battery, does the car do alot of short journeys?
