So i've recently bought a grande punto. This is my first car and i'm wanting to make some changes to it to make it look a little better. Do any of you have any suggestions?

Cheers

Looks like a clean and tidy GP there!

id say if it was me colour code the wing mirrors/ handles

Active sport alloys (£150 ish ebay)
- Active sport side skirts ?
-Wing deflectors ?
- black door stripes (factory optional extra )

Also welcome to the Forum :)

id add

lower the car on abarth essence springs (35/40mm iirc)
tints if your that way inclined?
sporting/abarth headlights

then optional
change badges to newer red ones
vinyl behind number plate

then most importantly, you choose what ever you want to do because its your car and youl have your own style :D

Welcome to the forum ....

Few ideas....,

30mm drop
16' alloys
Gloss black vinyl door pillars and rear lights, next to the rear glass
Abarth headlights
Colour coded handles and mirror caps
De "Punto" the boot
FK badgeless grill...

Take a peek through the Members Motors thread, see what others have done to theirs...

And most of all, make it yours.

Any reason you opted to suggest these over Eibach Sportlines Springs? Abarth springs won't drop as much as they state on an 1.2/1.4 GP due to the distinct lack on weight in the engine bay. Eibachs will give you a nice 35mm drop all around and are going to be cheaper than Abarths for sure.

Back to OP. List of mods suggested by everyone here are the right way to go.
-Simple drop on Eibachs Sportlines (eBay £180+£100 fitting)
-Original sporting alloys (eBay £200-300)
-Abarth headlights/rears (partworld £200 fronts + rears free. Special offer atm)
-Rear mudguards give the GP a nice fat bottomed stance (love the look on mine)
- rear 3 windows tints maybe
-definitely colour code door handles, i like the mirrors black however
-Debadge front grill
*Personally, vinyling behind the grill is over done, so is removing the rear punto badge.

[kill joy mode] Before doing any modifications check your insurance co is happy and find how much more it will cost to add on specific mods [/kill joy mode]

One of the best mods if you can call it that is to keep the car spotlessly clean well polished and waxed. Clean cars always stand out

Oh Andy, you come across as Grandad wading into the debate :D You make a valid point about keeping the car clean though. You can mod your car for all its worth but if it looks dirty then you may as well not bother. On the subject of Insurance, i've found with ALL my mods so far is that they are unwilling to qoute me how much it will hurt my wallet untill after i've done it, otherwise they aren't interesting in what i have to say. I can understand their point, as they could tell me and i'd be like "Howwww muchhhhh?!" and not bother, money lost on their part.

I suggest you leave it alone and enjoy it for what it is. Once you have a few years no claims upgrade to something faster with all the cash you saved by not modifying the punto.

1st i would like to say  Hi and welcome!

I agree with every post so far (apart from the abarth springs) but I also agre with Andy Monty and jameshobiecat but subtle things will change it drasticaly such as.

A nice set of alloys (I would stick to OEM alloys)
colour coded door handles
black between the windows
lowering springs (eibach sporlines) always nice but think about insurance.
vinyl behind the grill looks nice on silver puntos
painted break calipars (but not drums :yuck:)

All of what i have mentioned minus the springs and wheels should not effect your insurance and do usually set a car off, but like many have said this is your car and only you can decide.

Parking radar is also a good mod

Any one who attended the Goole Meet recently will get it!

Few quick questions as i'm quite thick when it comes to this stuff...

Where would I get vinyl from and is this just a sticker?
Would the handles need to be sprayed at a garage or could I do them myself?
How much would the tint cost, and could this be done by myself?

Side skirts, alloys and new springs are a bit pricey and I don't think my insurance would allow them.

Thanks

Vinyl can be brought from eBay loads of different types colours and sizes just type black vinyl in eBay then you can choose if you want gloss matte or carbon fiber effect but yes basically is sticky back plastic.
The handles could be painted by you yes but this takes time and patients and it depends if you could live with the more than likely defects. Halfords will happily mix a can of paint if you give them your paint code.
And again window tints can be done by you but it is very tricky to get right. Price depends an the quality of the tint and the set price of the person tinting I think SJB1985 has had some quotes for tints so you might want to look at his build thread.

Hope this helps.

Jordan.
