My gear knob is minging! I have to change it, but it has the lift up thingy to put the car in to reverse, which I can imagine could cause issues.

Also, can any of you recommend a replacement?

Any help?

Thanks in advance!

There are specific gear knobs readily available on the market for lift up reverse. A quick search on ebay should bring up a few  I'm looking to chsnge mine and know that richbrook do a nice black leather one with various aluminium inserts dependant on gear positions.

Here is my one I put on my Seicento last week. .... quite hideous but only £8.95 and does the job! Better than my rubber one that kept falling off!

I wouldn't bother removing the lift up reverse function, when browsing through them it will say suitable for lift up reverse, or not suitable, and it doesn't have to be designed for your model of car it can be a universal one which fits all. Venommotorsports has some nice ones but its quite expensive for what it is. Depends what you are willing or wanting to pay

Partsworld sell the sporting gear knobs for the Grande Punto, and I think they look great.

5-Speed knob:

I just bought this one. The original knob justs twists off with some brute force, and this one twists on. Perfect fit, looks the part and you don't need to worry about ruining the lift-up reverse selection

Don't FF members have a Partsworld website discount too?

Will gearknobs from the 500s fit in Grande Puntos? Failing that, does anyone know the diameter/thread as there's one for a Scooby I quite like for lift-reverse, which is M12 x 1.25
