picking up a set of eibachs tonight just wondering how dangerous and how hard are they to fit? is it worth attempting myself?

Nice one mate. I didnt attempt mine myself I paid 80.00 to have mine fitted. I know a few have successfully attempted this but you will need a mate to assist.

I fitted mine with the help of a friend, make sure you sure spring compressors, don't try and do it a pikey way. Takes an hour at most.
I fitted my coilovers on my mk2, springs on our Sei and springs on my grande at my local 'friend/family' garage so it was a hell lot easier than at the road side having all the correct tools and a wizzy gun 
like stephen said, he paid £80 which is a reasonable if not cheap most garages will charge this and should have it done within the hour

cheers for replies guys, i aint paying £80 for someone to work on my car unless its something i really cant do. the only thing thats putting me of is the fact that them springs are deadly ****ers.
Yeah you let one of those slip it can kill you. I've seen clips online of them slipping and literally impaling through concrete walls. The destruction is catastrophic for such an inocuous object. Certainly worth the £100 fitting i payed for mine to be put on the car for me.

well it ****ed up, got strusts out compressed springs and the top hats would not come of no matter what we tried had mechanic on it too, then the alan key fixing on the strut snapped, so now i can fit the springs until i get a new strut.... coilovers it is
Unlucky. Not a bad alternative though eh, coilovers Fair trade off IMO!

I had the same problem trying to undo the top mounts. You need an 18mm deep reach socket and and an impact wrench. Makes it so much easier! However the socket is so hard to find. All the usual shops don't sell them!

back to warrington AGAIN for coilies tomoz woo the joy only £10 more though, they fk street ones heard they are ok for the money, still got 6 month warranty on them too so no dramas attempting to fit them thursday as well as making my gfs birthday/valentines cake. shouldnt be a problem now ive had struts of at front should fall out now

All you need is an impact wrench, I never bothered with the Alan keys on mine.
as x Alex x said, impact wrench. you can get replacement struts for around £40. not that bad.
personally i would of kept with the ebach's. how much did you pay for the coils hope you havn't bought a nasty cheap ride set.
edit; your car is a 1.2 its not to bad. you should be alright.. thought you where going to put base entry coils on a t-jet/mjet i was like D: lol

Lol the eibachs were 70 the coilies are 80 only 6 month old n yeah heard fks are ok for the money. Not gonna drop it silly like some people do only 40mm and yeah she's a 1.2 so light as a fat feather

same problem guys need to reuse topmounts for coilovers, how do i get them off? not arsed if i break the strut
