My grande has literally just gave up on me, driving along about 40 in 4th put the clutch down to change gear and nothing happened, gear stick will only move backwards and forwards (as if it was 3rd and 4th) but its not changing, still drives fine and clutch operates fine, there wasn't even any noise when it happened just seemed normal till it wouldn't let me select a gear?

I'm thinking its going to be gear linkage related but I need as much advice as there is out there as I'm skint and don't want to garage it unless necessary

Either linkage ball joints or gear change cables.. one does up and down the other left and right....

You wouldn't happen to have that guide that you emailed the OP of the thread you linked?
One of mine is snapped or needs adjusting and I can't afford to pay someone to do it (can only just afford the new part tbh) so I wan't to have ago myself but have no clue where to start.
