As pretty much every GP owner I have had problems with a leaking tailgate.

I thought it was fixed last fall but now the wetter is getting a bit betteit's throwing shower after shower at the car.
If I leave the tailgate closed no water comes in.
When I open it water comes out of the rubber bit on the bottom but no water gets into ther.
But when I close the tailgate water poors from the top straigh to my parcel shelf.

So far I have done the following:

Sealed the 3rd brakelight
Sealed the seams in top corners
Replaced the badge and sealed it on the inside
The rubber of the wiper is still orginal but there's no way so much water is getting through there, I had the plastci of for about a month and checked after shower, only a couple of drips get trhough.

So that lease me with a problem I don't know how to solve.
Anyone got other options?

most common place these things leak is from the Rear wiper seal..
done 100's of them.
but if your certain its not from there? then more than likely gonna be the roof gutter seal. lift the seals up a bit (cloe to the boot lid) theres poin holes in the roof its self beneath these seals. we apply a bead of tiger seal then tape the seals down for 24 hours.

Hi there , heard of the rear wiper seal leaking water is a common problem on the gp's . Also just double check the rear washer pipe has not come off or split as this is common too . Other than that is it the rear window seal or the tailgate itself where the panels are joined?

This might sound daft but how do you know its leaking? Im going to check over mine tomorrow

Mine was the rear window seal just below the brake light; I think when moving house we had shut the boot on something and it had just ever so slightly bent the metal on the inside, just enough to crack the seal. Did the standard hosepipe test and then dried it for a couple of hours and bunged loads of black silicone in that gap all the way along; good as new now!!
