Hi,
I have a grande punto 07 reg 1.4 dynamic dualogic (semi auto) version.

Every time I open drivers door I hear a whirring sound (not a prob think its supposed to do that) after reading some other threads I'm sort of understanding the noise is something to do with a hydraulic pump priming something??? So my first question is what is that pump called? I asked in a local garage and the guy just looked straight through me!

Ok well the noise has stopped and everything else works stereo, engine, heaters lights wipers everything is running just fine.... Go to put it in gear either auto or manual, and I get a beeping "check transmission" see handbook!

Can anyone please shed some light I have disconnected re-connected battery I have cleaned all fuses what now HELP!!!!!!! :bang::bang::bang::bang:

Fistly thank you for replying,
I've checked all fuses ie engine bay glove box etc and all fuses are fine, so am I needing a new pump? And if so do you know if a normal garage can fit this or if I have to take it to fiat?

It sounds like you might need a replacement pump. Might be worth checking the heavy duty plug in the cable to it first though, and then giving it a thump to see if you can get a little more life out of it.

Any garage can replace it, however only Fiat, or someone with MultiECUscan.net software can bleed the hydraulic system after, if the system isn't bled the car will still work, but be very jerky and lumpy with gear changes.

Apologies for how dumb I'm about to sound, but this is my first car and I don't know too much about cars in general although I'm trying to pick things up as I go, you said about the heavy duty plug and weve spoke about the pump where do I find this stuff I assume its under the car and not in engine (told you I'd sound dumb lol) if I jack the car up would I be able to see what I'm looking for? Many thanks:worship:

Thanks mate ill have a look tomorrow ... I'm sure you'll b hearing from me again lol:D

Hi again told u I'd be back!

If I had a multiecu scanner could I fix this myself provided someone installed a new pump?

Yes you should be able to do all the system recalaberations, that the Fiat dealer would do, yourself assuming your gearbox is supported. I know the dualogic boxes on my Bravo and Panda are :)
