Hi , My wife has an 06 plate Grande Punto and the other day when she was thawing the car out to take the kids to school she turned the blower switch round to number 4 and the blowers went off. We have tried the blowers on the first 3 settings and they work fine , its just when you turn them to full power that they cut out all together. does anybody have any ideas about what this could be and if it is something i could fix myself.

Thanks Mark

Not had this personally, but have had a quick look around.....

Make sure there is adequate coolant in the engine and if it is low refill and bleed it properly. Low coolant will quickly damage the engine so find out why its leaking. Of course it might be fine but you must check it.

If that is ok it could be the heater fan motor or the switch or the speed control resistors. Its a case of working through with a test meter.

Mine had the same problem, I've dicovered the cable connection has burnt underneath the glovebox.....get some contact cleaner spray and try to move the connector in different angles....hope it will work out for you.

Thanks for that, i will have a look at the weekend when i have a bit of daylight.

My heatings gone completely :-(

The wires burnt & have no idea what I have to do.

I hope you get it sorted as its not the weather to have no warmth in the car
