Hi,

I have a 06 GPS, and only when the outside temperature is below -1 or thereis ice on the windscreen do i get a ticking noise. The noise starts 2 or 3seconds after start up and disappears after about 10 seconds, and seems to becoming from around the drivers front wheel.

I never get the ticking noise unless there is ice on the car (minus temps),and other than this the car drives as normal.

What could be the problem?

What engine do you have?

It could be a hydraulic tappet not filling up properly if it's cold and the oil a bit thick. Thin oil 5/40 may solve this.

Had this on a previous car, it disappeared after a few minutes driving once the oil got warmed up.
