Have you checked to see if any nuts/bolts have been disturbed recently (eg, exhaust manifold heatshield). Sounds to me that they've done the head gasket and don't want to admit it and potentially have you try to back the car after all the issues you've had.
If they have disturbed the cambelt, the EML flashing @ 60mph/3000rpm will be down to a sync-ing problem between the cam and crank sensors caused by not resetting the system after doing the job. If this is the case, the fault code will be for a generic misfire.
