Ive noticed a smell of petrol in the cabin of my 2009 T-jet soon after start up, which goes away after a as soon as i get moving.

Ive searched the forum and checked what i could find in old threads,

breather hose has no splits and is fitted securely ( havent taken it off as would need new clips)
exhaust and turbo seem fine
no signs of HG failure

car runs perfectly, any ideas?

Mine also looked ok until I took it off, it was split from top to bottom. If it is the foam one I would change it anyway as it is an inevitable failure waiting to happen.

The new one only costs a fiver from memory and takes 2 seconds to fit.

petrol tanks normally under back seat in most cars. thats where all the sensors are located. when i had my bmw it was 2 do with all that.

jus a theory worth a look hope it helps let uz all know if u find out wot was wrng

My smell was a split exhaust flexy right next to the undertray. Whenever you pulled up and stopped for a few minutes you could smell it. A cat-back with new flexy soon sorted that issue :yum:
