Where is it leaking from

it is leaking from the sensor as shown in the picture above. The picture shown is after cleaning. Before cleaning, alot of selespeed oil is all around the black sensor area. I have chaned the selespeed pump (4mths ago), the accumulator and also replace the sensor PF 2/00 (as shown in the picture).
I try to trace the problem, but I can only find oil around this black sensor area.

Last week, when the oil spill onto the ground, it left about 10% of oil in the container. I let car rest for 20 mins and I can start again, engaged gear and continue to drive. I am surprised that I can still engaged gear with only 10% selespeed oil left, there is no error or beeping alarm. I quickly drove to the workshop to top up selespeed oil.

Sounds like some sort of seal has failed then and the sensor needs replacing.

Yes you right, it was an oil seal. I went to a fiat alfa specialist workshop, they told me it was a seal at the plunger/lever (actuator) that cause the problem. The previous non specialist workshop changed to a lousy quality one and it cause all the oil leak.

Thanks for your help.

Hi, I am experiencing selespeed oil leak at this same spot. My situation is such that there is no prior warning, oil will spill out onto the road suddenly and in large amount, while I stopped at traffic light. It has happened twice. I changed the sensor PF 2/00 and accumulator. Oil is still leaking.
Can someone please help me? I got the Fiatescan and it didn't show any error. I don't know when it will fail me again.
Hi
seems you have/had my exact problem.... what i finally did, according to the dealers persistence, is change the clutch, they claimed that due to wear, the movement is beyond mechanical limits, this leads to overpressure which leads to leakage.

i was not very convinced, but i payed for a new clutch, and afterwards it stopped leaking, but it seems that its beginning to leak again, i changed the clutch 40000 km, its too soon for the new clutched to wear.

But since you changed the accumulator, and the switch, my suggestion is to do as i did, and change the clutch, hope this will fix it for you, and for more mileage.

by the way how did you change that switch, it must be done at the dealer, because if u mess up with that arm in the picture, it will mess up the shifting completely, that's what this switch is for... i tried messing with it, and this screwed the shifting synchronization, had to tow to the dealers, embarrassing as that was

SNOUR did you find out what that part is called or part No as i have same problem any info you found would be helpful Thanks
hi
Sorry for the late reply, that (part), sensor you mean, was not the problem so dont bother changing it, please read my previous remarks, it turned out to be the clutch, that fixed the problem for 40000 km, unfortunately, i am having that problem again now

update:
seems like someone found that this could be because of a seal (plunger seal), will look into it

hi swatchlu
I just read you fixed the problem
can you please give more detail about that seal, where exactly, if you have picture that will be great
thanks

Hi Snour,

I dont have a picture of that oil seal. But according to the workshop guy, he told me it is an oil seal in the plunger arm. He need to remove the actuator to replace that seal. I am not too sure of the location, he didn't tell me.
It is only 1 seal that cause the problem.

As for the PF2 sensor, I dun need Fiatecscan to read it or do anything to it. I just unplug the battery and lift up the car to remove it. It has some tension to it and need to be careful when twist and slowly turn it out.

Any one know if this problem could relate to a P060C error code as i have the same leak on my car but also my transmission is not working with the code as before.

what leak.. IF the level is low, then the system cannot work properly.

once you've restored the fluid level then you can do a recalibration of the system,
I wouldn't try with a low level - as air in the system is the last thing you need,

Hi snour and swatchlu. I am currently having exactly the same problem that you faced and I will appreciate that you tell me if your problem was gone or if you are still dealing with it. Thanks a lot.
