Hi all,

I've got a 1.9 mulltijet grande punto - 08 plate. I've had some issues starting it from cold lately and I've been getting some white smoke coming out of the exhaust when it does start.
Today I had a warning come up saying "checking glow plugs." I immediately dropped into a car parts shop to buy some glow plugs only to be told they were £12.00 each. I'm not willing to pay £48 for four when the fault may only be with one.
Is there anyway of telling what glow plug is playing up?

Simple stuff here.

Most suggest that if one tests faulty, replace the lot as the rest will probably fail shortly afterwards.

Not sure how/if this would explain white smoke on start up, though. White smoke = steam?

Thanks mate, I'll give that a go tomorrow. At £12 quid a go they're pretty pricey, not sure I can afford to do all 4 this month really.

I thought that the white smoke was unburnt fuel?

Could be (unburnt fuel or steam that is). But my old P100 never chucked out anything but black smoke.
