1.9 multijet, took the egr off to clean as i thought it was blocked but as i removed it i noticed that this wasnt the fault and its actually the corragated outlet pipe heading towards the manifold heat exchanger its completely sheered in half (pics below)

my questions are is there anything i can temporarily use to fix this exhaust repair bandage?
and is the pipe replacable or is it the whole manifold heat exchanger unit itself, most probably the case with fiat!

Wrap it in tape?
Same stuff as the put on manifolds.

That won't make a gas seal. Like you said exhaust bandage may last as a temporary fix.

Exhaust bandage hasnt work, may get it to the garage, the manifold heat exchanger is that a dealer only part?

Yes it will be a dealer only part. It's specific to this car or cars with this engine.

Yeah unfortunately that's typical customer service you can expect from Fiat. A good Fiat dealer are few and far between

I bought my car used from a Evans Halshaw vauxhall and their customer care is brilliant and anything they can't deal with they deal with the fiat dealer on my behalf .

Thats strange i couldnt fing anything fos saabs vauxhalls, i think im just going to utilise my aa cover as was reminded by the wife i have it, stupid? Thanks matty ur always a great help and this may help others via search one day

How does your aa cover help? Do you mean warranty rather than breakdown?

If so it's a DIY part and for the sake of £45 I'd just do it myself personally.

Ive got labour abd parts cover with aa used it about 4 times in 2years, upto £500 cover

I would but i work every day and have 10month old twins so time is very limited

Fair enough. I've heard good things about those AA warranties.

Cant fault them first time we used it the guy was brilliant, took car back to dealer 20mile away and bk to car hire place, then took us home to get paper parts of licence back to hire place waited until everything was fine then went on his way was with us all day brilliant chap
