Our car starts OK, but once it's started and you drop the key, we get a little squeel from the starter motor.

Is this the same fault as listed in the "Recall and Common Faults" Sticky, regarding a low voltage on the battery ?

Is the squeal from the starter motor or the alternator belt?
If it's the belt it probably just needs tightening or replacing.

Good point. Maybe I'll check the belt 1st
