Hi guys , Im comeing over from the cento section , my brother has gone from a cinq turbo to a gp , so new to all this punto sutff :)
my brother has a 1.9 Mjet Gp , been told the clutch is dead , so need to replace that ,. but also got told that the Duel mass flywheel could also be dead due to the noise it is makeing , :bang:

the question im asking is , Is it worth takeing it off , and replaceing it with a normal (single mass) flywheel ? or can changeing it damage parts of the engine and box?

I personally think that there was never anything wrong with the old fashioned clutch setup.
It's a tough call.
If it were me doing the work on my own car and I could change the dual mass for a normal solid flywheel, at little extra cost, then I probably would.
I am an old fart though.:)

If you hear the flywheel clunkcing while in neutral it probably is shot and needs replacement.

Take a hold of your heart for the prices.
Mines costed 1100 euro's, flywheel only no fitment.
Clutch and Plate were another 500 euro's, also no fitment.
Got them done when I had teh gearbox out for rebuilding.
