Hi guys, i have a problem that really scared me yesturday.
Basically, i have a 56 plate 1.2 8v & was traveling a little over national speed limit & suddenly it felt like i hit a brick wall or got hit by an EMP! My engine warning light came on for a few seconds, temperature gauge instantly hit H with light on & speed ometer went down to zero as if engine was turned off (i was still traveling same speed & engine was still running) so i eased off and a second or two later, all was back to normal..... Has anyone else experienced this & have any idea what happened!? :(

Sure you wernt hit by a MEP ;)

Sounds like it jumped into Limp home mode momentarily... :s never happened with mine.
I had problems with my dials when I had a fuse go... Check the fuses??
Let us know what it was when/if you find it?

Like the Rover in the pic ,hope it's the 3500 V8 ...
If your fiat is a diesel ,there is threads on the temp gauge if i remember correctly ,so you should hopefully find something in the search function ..If i am wrong ,NICE ROVER lol

I replaced the Negative cable leading from the Battery, so take the negative end off the battery and follow the cable it should split into 2 different directions

You should be able to buy the right gauge cable from any decent electrical store and places like screwfix.
Think its usually 1 or 2 AWG. Or you could replaced "the big 3" to be completly sure.
