my car dashboard fuse is going out when i press the break and doshboad totally goes out and gear system is also not working. after installing a new 7.5 fuse car starts normally and dashbord works well. but if press da break again fuse goes out.

car model : fiat grande punto 1.4 8v 2007

Only links I can think of between the electrical systems and brakes are the brake lights and abs if fitted. I'd suspect some sort of short circuit is being caused by the brake switch which I imagine is located in the pedal box assembly. I would have thought that the brake lights run on a separate circuit to the dash lights but all sorts of odd things can happen with electrics.
