Can anyone tell me the code. Been researching and found Col7104 used this turbo with his T-jet. Are they also as easy to get hold of now as a vl36.

Cheers

Excellent thanks for the replies, I'll have a look. Is it worth upgrading to the garrett without getting hold of the uprated injectors and other esseesse components. The overall plan is to get near to 200bhp and using col7104 tjet as a guideline.

Or am I better off with vl36 and all the other normal mods like FMIC, GSR/forge induction, decat and exhaust??

There's no point having the garrett without the injectors, I've got 180bhp with the VL36 and my injectors would max out around 190 according the statistics when I was getting it remapped.

If you're got the money, get the uprated injectors and the garrett turbo and you'll hit 200bhp no problem. Just be wary that you're seriously shortening the life of your clutch & flywheel. I had 173bhp from around 22,000 miles, got 180bhp at 29,000 and my clutch went at 31,000.

I've had 171bhp for 18,000 now with no clutch problems, guess I've probably got lower bottom end torque though with having a VL38

Is it cheaper to buy one or just send your own unit to turbo technics and get it uprated?
When mine got refurbed they would basically build anything i wanted including Billet turbines etc to just about any size, With bigger compressors and 360 bearing etc it pumped more air in, could cope with more boost and spooled up 500rpm sooner, Mine was a Mitsubishi unit they stripped it out and made it into a garrett.
Just an idea

Not sure, considering my VL36 was only £250 I prefer that route as it's reliable. I would love to see someone uprate a turbo for the punto though.

FYI

There is one SS turbo for sale on ebay right now, they are not difficult to get hold of, however the SS kit has about 96 parts total, only 20 ish are the wheels and stuff.

The other 70 odd relate to the engine mods, a lot changes. It is not as simple as just bolting a new turbo to your existing manifold, for example it wouldnt fit on that manifold.

The is also a new manifold on ebay for a t03 turbo....

PM if you want to ask more questions!
