First of all Hi folks, this is my first post and would really appreciate some help.

I have not long bought myself a 2007 grande punto 77 active sport 1.4.

The air con was working fine when i bought it then all of a sudden a week later the fan seems to be blowing nothing.

Things i have checked so far are:

Fuse 18 under the bonnet next to the battery. Its not blown and is fine.

I have checked the connection under the passenger foot well which is also fine.

The window heater works fine and lights up.

The air circulation button works fine, lights up and can hear movement when its pressed.

I really don't know where to go next and fear that if i take it to a garage ill be ripped off for something i don't actually need.

There was a thread made about this years ago that i found but i am having the exact same problem. Unfortunately the OP never updated the thread to say how he fixed it in the end -https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto/169846-air-con-help.html

Appreciate any help and ideas.

Thanks.

The fan is blowing nothing...

Make a noise but no ventilation,

or pumps air but it doesn't cool when aircon is engaged

:yeahthat:

But don't panic about garages, the heater motor is a 3 screw out job so if you need to check replace it's an easy task to do,Im sure we can talk you through it.

Its nothing to do with the temperature its just the fan itsself wont engage when i put the dial to any setting (1-4)

To add to above, if it doesn't work at all your blower wiring loom may have melted, common problem on gp if speed 4 is used frequently.

I should have added this to the OP.

I was taking the head unit in and out as was thinking of changing to an aftermarket cd player. Changed my mind and put everything back. Is it possible i could have caught a cable behind there and pulled it out? I trien getting into it but dont have the torx tool i need for it.

Appreciate everyones help so far. Cheers.

If you have a multimeter you could also check for power at the connector plug (make sure fan speed dial is on).
