By the looks of things, the mods hes done should give him some decent results. What boost presure are you running?
Theres a guy ive got on my facebook (search Multijet tuning) who uprated his turbo and he had to get bigger injectors, Yeah he is running a 1.3mjet 75 but I should think there would be some limit to how much the standards could displace?

Pics under the bonnet?

I didnt think exhausts made a huge load of difference on dervs either? correct me if im wrong :p

Tom

I'm running 2 bar of boost. The benefits of exhaust upgrade are go down EGT and less backpressure.

Did you have to use gaskets for exhaust turbo back pressure?

I have an mjet too, i was only asking about methonal mix as i wanted to do it but every1 i spoke to said there were no gains, yes egts went down but mo power gains, i guess maybe its a try n find out thing

A straight through exhaust can make a huge difference on DERVs as they breathe a lot better.

Bigger FMIC, decat, uprated injectors, bigger turbo, and remap and you're looking at a large power increase before you hit limits.

Now I believed the limit on these was 190-200bhp.

This is true! I had the exhaust split at the flexible on a Tipo TD. Not only did it sound awesome, the response was greatly increased. :D

As with most turbo'd engines petrol or diesel the best place to start tuning wise is the exhaust.

At the end of the day a Turbo charger is an air pump, The less restrictions on the backside on the exhaust the more air it can flow (upto the flow limit of the turbo ofcourse).

does the methonal actually do anything apart from keep temps down, ive spoke to a lot of dyno ppl tht said theres no niticable difference on or off
by keeping temps down it means you can tune it more aggressively - it allows you to increase boost more as the hotter intake air will be cooled slightly by the methanol

errm not sure, a mate of mine tuned up his peugeot 206 diesel though and added methanol and water injection, got it up from 90 to 155bhp (though these don't have intercoolers standard)

you probs could push for more boost on turbo...at the risk of shortening its life quite a lot!

Its already gone at 45k, victors vanished when you ask questions :(

Assuming these are legitimate mods, id say Victors has done rather well there, wouldn't you?
I wonder what the maximum output the jtd would have?
