hi guys and girls really hope you can help me out,
I own a 1.4 09 plate grande punto and absolutely love the car apart from one thing.

After about 6 months of owning it a knocking noise started coming from the passenger side suspension when going over any slight bump or hole in the road.

After diagnosing this with my brother we found the anti roll bar stabiliser:

(this isn't the actual part used just an example photo)
was making a strange click from the joint.

So we replaced this straight away.
Almost instantly the knocking noise moved to the drivers side.

Before changing the drivers side I purchased some 18 inch alloys and when putting the new wheels on I also changed the drivers side anti roll bar stabiliser.

Success the noise had gone and I was a happy chappy, however after approximately 4 weeks the noise has re-appeared!! =[

Can anyone shed any light on the situation as I've completely run out of ideas:(

Cheers
Ben

over size wheels kill suspensions quicker than standard wheels, check ball joints, track rod ends and arms[ internal of steering gaitor for play in and out ] and also as said inner anti roll bar rubbers.:)

Just had mine diagnosed as front suspension bearings, noisy but not a risk or hazard to car driver. Also passed the MOT so just getting some new bearings, give them a check, with the full weight of the car on the wheel!
Hope this helps
