So i can get inside and feel the gromit from the inside, but how can I possibly work around this?

where the arrow is there should be a screw around there and one in the rear of it by the seatbelt rail then the highlighted panel just pulls off just do it slowly the that is drivers side the second part has two crews one under the fist pannle and one near the fuse box u will see it after u undo the first side
that may make it all clear for that step

ill do a couple of sections will make it easier to follow

and the second bit of trim u have to remove on the passenger side mine had one crew and one panel clip just to beware

right next pic is from the other side of car but is the same on bothsides

I just have a short amount of time friday so the more I know the quicker I can get it done, I'll be able to do it from that info.

As for the wires to the headunit for the speakers, they'll be useless now wont they?

Hopefully the wires wont get damaged with rain etc due to being outside the rubber

Well mine seem to be Oky since u can run cable out side it made of rubber just make sure u fi threw the door grommet use screw driver pop a hole I. And head they will be useless but leave them run just for when u want to sell car good luck

how did u get on today mate

it pissed it down so left it, but got all day tomorrow and got premises to do it inside so gonna do it right.

Found out, I only have to wire to the cross over box on the speakers so slightly easier!

will update tomorrow how it goes

speakers went fine mate. didnt bother wiring to the cross over just spliced in behind the head unit. Sounds much, much better
