Hi I am Sausage, I am new around here.

Wanted a car under 4k and the only cars in the 3-4k bracket that stood out for me were the Grande Punto's due to the look. Corsa's and 206's didn't do it for me.

Paid £3600. The Car: Red, 32,000 miles, 1.4L Active Sport, half a tank of petrol, good condition although has a few small scratches and had some major scratches on the wing mirrors which I have now painted, MOT not until March 2013 and tax to be renewed in September. Purchased as standard (no modifications).

I am looking to improve the cars sporty look.

Wheels: This is the main thing I want to change, having much sexier, large rimmed wheels will make this car so much better and sportier looking. Looking at getting some 17" rims like these: https://www.stxstyling.co.uk/StxStyling/Cars/showit.php?pnum=10766 £389 with tyres! I almost purchased the same alloys with economy tyres for about £600 from a different website but luckily they were out of stock and then I came across that site. Looks like I have saved myself £200...just waiting for them to confirm they have them in stock first.

Badges: I quite like the 'Punto' badge at the back its a nicely designed sporty looking badge and I think the back of the Punto's I have seen with it taking off look a bit bare.

As for the 'Fiat' badge at the back...if I can get a snazzier badge that is a suitable size to replace it then thats what I'll do, any badges out their with an abarth scorpion on them without the 'abarth' text? What do ppl think of adding abarth branded items to non-abarth Grande Punto?

Car Mats: Maybe some matching red car mats?

Front Grill: I was thinking of getting a de-badged grill but from what I have seen I think the car actually looks better with the badge :S, not so sure.

Vinyl/Stickers: I have seen some Abarth Scorpion stickers which you can put on your wing mirrors which look pretty cool. I also like the stripe that some Grande Punto's have down the lower sides of the car.

Wing Mirrors: I have also noticed that some Grande Punto's have a different coloured wing mirror, white versions have red wing mirrors and red versions have white wing mirrors. This looks like a nice easy change which makes the car stand out. Any idea how much the wing mirror casings cost?

Thats all I can thing of for now, here are some photos of my machine:

These are the alloys I am thinking of getting, photoshopped onto my car:

Nice car dude. Personally i dont like abarth badges on non abarth cars, like when people stick a "sport" badge on a 1.2 clio lol. Iv got a debadged grill as have many other people on her, i think it makes the front look alot smoother n meaner haha.

I agree about the whole abarth on non-abarth situation. Its as if your trying to make out your car is better than it is, but I just think the scorpion logo looks cool, I have my own vinyl cutter might just create my own cool designs to go on my wing mirrors.

As for the front grill thats something I will have to think about.

Nice car mate and welcome to the forum :)
Debadge is definitely a main thing most people do, and vinyl wrap behind the front number plate, I think it looks great like that. Must say though I really don't like those alloys you've edited on

I think I have gone a bit different to most people on here in my choice of alloys. Most I have seen go for Black alloys which IMO are too boy-racer for me. I do like white alloys on this car but for the same reasons I have not gone in this direction plus they would be a right bustard to clean.

New modern cars these days have chrome wheels, and I want to make my car look more 'new' and modern and classier, some alloys make a car look cheaper and thats not what I want.

I love the VW Golf Monza alloys but could not find anything similar that fit the GP. Smooth flat chrome alloys do it for me. These are not Over The Top which is what I want + they will be easy to clean.

Not sure if I am gunna get them yet though......need to check how much insurance will go up.

I'm feeling we think completely different things haha.
IMO black alloys are classier. The chrome and black ones like you've edited on the picture I think make the car cheaper. Those style of alloys seem very 'halfords' which is what the boy-racers go for.
Another thing to take into consideration is 'multi fit alloys' ie, the ones that have 100 and 108 PCD so they fit saxo's, corsa's, lupo's as well. IMO they look cheap (I have them on mine and really want them filled in)
Don't get me wrong, they'll look much nicer than the standard ones you have on now but I personally think those ones you want make the car look cheap and boy racer'y.

as for alloys, go for some second hand ones in decent nick off ebay or a forum member? save your self some cash :)
looks good, keep it suttle and don't do any silly chav mods (unless of corse you like that stuff lol. its up to you :) )

Black alloys remind me of wheels with hub caps missing.

I don't really know what a 'halfords' alloy looks like to be honest, they sell Ripspeeds lol. Ripspeed is naff yes, but not all Ripspeeds are similar to these, they have a variety lol.

These are what I photoshopped on and I don't see them as 'Halfordish':

Chrome 5-8 spoke wheels is the only way I am going to go I think, not too basic and not too over designed, somewhere inbetween. I would love these but think they must be pretty pricey:

Very similar design, but thats a naff Halfords version this is a mighty Team Dynamics wheel. ;)

Know any good sources for Grande Punto alloy wheels?

To be fair, they're not as bad as the edit made them look. Not too bad. Not my choice but it's your car mate!

GP's have the same PCD and centre bore as astra's so, a good thing to take not when looking (y)
