has anybody experience this before? does it require a new button unit?

Is your odometer flashing too?

If so, the CAN bus has temporarily lost track of the media player.

It may sort itself out if you turn the car off and leave it overnight.
If it doesn't sort itself, you could try unplugging the battery overnight.

If still no luck it'll need a Proxi Alignment - either at the dealers or on your own PC with FiatECUScan

Take the battery terminal off for 15 mins and put it back on the media player is Microsoft windoze based so often a turn on and off is all that is required

thanks for the advice guys....the odometer isn't flashing as far as i'm aware (it's my wires car).

will try disconnecting the battery for 15 mins and see how that works

it makes sense that it needs a reboot, as when my wife disconnected the usb she had in it now doesn't read anything when you plug it back in

this problem started about three weeks ago

just one idea .
Are any of the other buttons working I.e volume ?
May need to do the update again , I had to do this before worked fine after re doing the update.
