Hi got my Punto yesterday, very pleased! Its a 1.4 Dynamic (The 8v slower one) with the 'SkyDome' sun roof which is a great feature and I recommend to anyone looking to buy a Punto.
However I may be wrong here but the bite point on the clutch seems very high, I almost have my foot off the pedal completely when the car is at the bite. Could it need adjusting or can others confirm that this is normal?

Thanks,
Dom.

I think I'm right in saying that all gps have a hydraulic self adjusting clutch (the bigger engines certainly do). I suspect a high biting point indicates a worn clutch. Look on the bright side though, you don't have a dual mass flywheel to worry about.

I've got a dynamic so no self adjusting going on here, the car is still under warranty so will get it looked at soon.
I take it you have an expensive repair in order, with that flywheel then?

Have had a quick rummage around the forum and it looks as if I was correct in saying all Grandes have the hydraulic clutch and therefore there is no adjustment.

You do not have a dual mass flywheel so I'd guess at around £400 ish for a clutch. If you had a DMF that was worn too it would be double that.

On my searches I read a comment that Grande clutches do tend to bite higher than others and new owners often erroneously think there is a problem.
