Hi

I'm halfway through changing the timing belt on my girlfriends Grande Punto 1.4 16V Dynamic Sport.

Struggling to work out how to find tdc!? Anyone changed a belt on this engine?

I've done the belt a couple of times on my old Punto 1.2 8V, but that had obvious marks, which I can't seem to find on the 1.4 16V engine.

you should have read how to do it first, you dont time it at tdc and there is no marks, you must use timing tools, no other way will work 100%

this engine is not a safe engine, if you mess up vales will bend

Thanks for this Dave, however pretty hard to read up beforehand as there's no Haynes manual and nothing (I could find) about it here on the forum.

nope there is no way, 16v is timed with loose cam pully and all pistons at middle dead centre. many try with out tools 1% get lucky 99% KILL THE ENGINE

There is an elearn cd for the grande and also autodata ( autodata is often not correct though)
