Hi all, my first post here having recently bought a 2007 1.4 Dynamic Sport, impressed so far with the car. One thing I have noticed is that it mists up quickly especially during the damp weather.

I have checked for dampness and all the carpets are dry, no pools of water. Recently repaired the water leak fault near the brake servo and the boot area is dry.

I suspect that the air recirculation switch may not be doing anything and the valve could be stuck closed - the button lights up but there is no change in the airflow or noise of any valve moving.

On previous cars I have had you could hear something move when it was switched on or to test set to cold air and with the fan on maximum to the face vents the airflow would change slightly when the valve closed. I had a look today under the heater fan next to the left of the pollen filter is a multiplug connector fixed to the clear plastic trunking, would anyone know is that the valve or is it further up near the dashboard past the fan motor? Has anyone had a similar problem and managed to repair or fix the valve so it is open all the time?

Thanks (y)

Hello, I have same problem, I am trying to find way how to fix it, if I will find it I will share the knowledge :)

Hi Trebors. Thanks for the reply, I actually managed to fix it myself - found out that the wire to the recirculation valve wasn't connected, probably never connected from when the car was new - I found a random loose wire with a small black connector on the end near the radio, and after searching for what looked like something to connect it to found a small round black connector up behind the glove box, not near the pollen filter at all. If you look up past the heater motor up towards the back of the glove box as if you are looking towards the bottom of the windscreen you will see the small round motor fastened to the white trunking. I reconnected it and it worked fine, when you press the switch there is now a definite 'thunk' as the valve closes and re opens. (y) Perhaps yours has come off also or the valve is broken.
