Hi all,

I know this question has been asked before but it's never REALLY been answered properly.

Does the 1.4 GP (8 or 16v) have a DMF? The reason I ask is that euro car parts offer a DMF for a 1.4 Grande Punto. They say it fits the T-Jet but it doesn't really say on the product specification, just says 1.4.

I know shop4parts have a DMF but it's quite a bit more expensive! That's another reason that doubts are springing up!

The initial idea of the DMF was to make the diesel engine more refined and smoother at idle ..So it is really for diesels ,though i dare say it may creep in to petrol engines but i'd say the 1.4 16v has a solid flywheel ,as it's a reasonably old engine and can't see fiat fitting a DMF to it now

Fiat have only just introduced a Dual Mass Flywheel into the TwinAir petrol-engined 2012 Punto (and Alfa MiTo) to help curb vibration, but even the TwinAir 500 & Panda do without, so i can't imagine any petrol Grande Punto's having a DMF. As already mentioned, they're usually linked to diesel powered vehicles.
