Hey,
Finally got round to fitting my sub yesterday and managed to get everything pretty much sorted out.
When it came round to testing everything we became baffled and confused....

All of the wiring is correct, Postive to the batter, Remote to the remote out on the HU, RCA into Subwoofer output on the HU, Earth attached to the seat back anchor point (big shiney steel plate the seat backs latch onto) and all of the wires for the output to the 2 small drivers in the subwoofer unit. In theory, it should be working correctly, all the settings on the HU are correct but its not working...

We tested the amp, and sub by connecting it to a 12v battery and using a 3.5mm aux - RCA output and everything was working correctly, the sub works on a different amp,

So its narrowed it down to either the earth or the remote, the amp turns on, but it doesnt give an output to the subwoofer when connected into the car.

I was thinking about trying a different earth point in the rear of the car, but I cant find one that looks substantial enough...

Can anyone help?

Tom

The earth needs to be clean (ie sand all the paint off down to bare metal) iirc if you remove the nearside boot carpet side cover there are some earthing points there
