Hi guys,

I've got a problem with my boot, it wont open. I've tried to button on the key fob and the indicator lights on the dash just flash and when I press the button the the dash it wont open either. Can't hear any signs of clicking on the boot lock either. Any ideas?

Tried it just after I had washed my car so is it possible there is a leak somewhere? Got into the boot from inside the car but there was no sign of water so I'm not even sure about that.

*Edit*

Just managed to get the boot to open from the inside and there was water in the lock. Does this mean that I would be best off getting a new lock for it? And is there anyway to stop water getting in in the first place?

Try spraying the lock with wax-oil once its well and truly dried out
You may get lucky
I sprayed the whole of the inside of the back door, the wiper motor and the lock when car was new as water ingress here is a known weakness

If I was you, I'd order a new lock unit from eBay, think they are about £25 new. Then I would investigate where water is getting in from, most likely to be rear washer pipe has split, have you experience a low amount of water when using rear screen or none at all, but can hear the pump running?. Mine split in the grey tubing to top left hand of boot, split the flexi down, push a new piece of vacuum hose over it and tape back up and you will be road ready again.

It's not working again today. Opened it from inside the boot again and no sign of water today.... =/ Just the indicators on the dash flashing and a clicking from inside the boot.

I get a good spray out of the rear washed, I'm not sure it would be the washer pipe as it happened right after I had washed the car.

Not too surprised Chris

Water ingress via the seals along the back door edge is a known problem.
Mine were improved by Fiat under warranty but still not perfect. When you lift the back door, water drips out of the edges.

Fiat also fitted some rubber adaptors in the drain holes to hopefully improve the escape of water (on the basis of letting it escape as quickly as possible).

Also ingress via the back light is another common event I believe. All-in-all not one of Fiats best designs.

Which is why, based on similar experiences in the old mark I Punto, I use the wax-oil. If I cant stop it getting in I can at least limit the damage it does
