Hi,
getting the petrol smell in the car and found the breather hose to be split, so have sealed and will replace, but my q is, what is the little breather pipe for or purpose?, i have noticed that this is not connected and seems to be snapped, this could only have been done at service last december.
Hope someone can help

It would have happened just before you started to smell the smell, not at the service. It's a breather for the engine.

Its the breather that goes to the inlet manifold

the main breather pipe is split in about four places and needs replacing, connected to the main breather is a little breather inlet, which inside this pipe is the plastic which as cleanly snapped off, and the other bit still connected to the main breather section. its a clean break and is not a ware and tear fault in my opinion.
Ihonestly think that when the air box housing was removed at service they have yanked it off and snapped this plastic connector.
i'm really trying to get at, will this not being connected affect my engine?
