Purchased a 2006 model 1.9L JTD yesterday and on the way home i accelerated and it started juddering then stalled. when i restarted it the amber engine light came on and cockpit screen read check engine. most annoying part is it was an approved used straight from a FIAT DEALERSHIP:bang:. so naturally it went straight back first thing this morning. just wanted to check if anybody had any idea what it could be? many thanks.

Most likely cause - EGR Valve.

Search on the forum for it, you will soon find a guide on how to clean it etc. Easy fix.

Was this when you were using your clutch as well? Or just throttle?

got it sorted turns out it was the battery not holding it's charge
