Tuning Fiat grande punto engine swap?

hey

i have a 1.9 mjet grande punto and i was wonder if you can swap the engine with the fiat coupe 2L turbo 20v or the 2L turbo 16v? i know you can in the old punto

Its a bit of a waste of time, as you cold of just brought the abarth! If you want to pay more insurance, road tax, and pay more petrol!
But it's your decision.

Whats your budget?

I would say if you could do all the work yourself then maybe under 5k. If you want a company to do it your probably talking 10k maybe more.

Surely not that much. I reckon if you got your hands on an engine it'd cost maybe 2-3k?

The punto's standard suspension won't be great with a coupe engine in it.

Well your going to need standalone i imagine as the punto runs off canbus, the coupe is years old, it will never work with canbus.

Brakes, suspension, exhaust system made up etc. It all adds up!

Gearbox and clutch as well, no way the mjet box would take all that power, especially if you take it up to 300 brake.

You would have to run a different box anyway as the ratios would be all out. Could run a Astra vxr gearbox as there a couple of them running 400bhp plus. But again more money.

The chassis would be borked as well. Would make a nice sleeper though, especially in 1.2 Active guise!

I have never checked up all these things in my punto, but now will make sure that i will look after all these matter onto my cars also.Even i am also facing some kind of problem in my punto too.

My hairdresser a few years ago had a tjet. took it to a place in london, give him 10k and the car was returned with a bmw 2.5 engine with a turbo of a 911 strapped to it, all chasis upgraded etc. He took me for a spin one day....I wet my self with the sheer Torque the thing churned out! running over 350bhp apparently.
