First off I love my Fiat, wouldn't swap it for anything....., seriously.
Even if it is just a 2006 1.4 8v
Up until lately she's been perfect,
Now heres the trouble
About a month ago I started recieving the "radiator temp...." message on the dash upon starting up. And the "EBR Failure" whilst on the M25 I might add. Did a quick read up on here and a new battery fixed this problem. *thanks FF guys :slayer:
4 days ago however this problem returned, but along with it has come the "airbag failure" message and the airbag light constantly on.
Took the car to the garage near my work as i get along with the guys there and had the battery tested,
quote- "your batteries charge is low, but its still ok...."
As for the airbag light, they plugged it into their little diagnostic box, and handed me a LIST of fault codes.....
B0109 - Pass Side Airbag Resist.
B1046 - Windscreen Wiper Switch
U1702 - Electric Steering (NGE)
B1008 - RH Direct Indicators
U1705 - Reciever Radio (NRR)
U1700 - Communic. With Body Computer (NBC)
U1703 - Communication with Instrument Cluster (NQS)
And i was like ...."Wah...?"
And since yesterday everytime i go to start the car, i get nowhere
the dash lights up fine on first click, let all the lights go out and turn again and then the dash just dies and the car doesnt start. It bumps fine, and once the engine is warmed up I can restart the car fine.
Been looking around the Forum and was wondering if i was right in thinking these were my next steps to take.... before i go shelling out on garage costs and replacement Alternators or starters....
1...fully charge battery, or replace with a stronger one
2...contact FIAT to check or arrange software update for Airbag system *Recall
3...Proxy Alignment
4...Have faith it works
I'm not the most clued up guy when it comes to engines and electrics, i prefer the styling side, hense why i only bought a 1.4 8v
Anyway, any help would be VERY much appreciated, even if its just a point in the right direction, As the MoT is looming closer and closer.
*sidenote.... thats a lot to read, I appreciate your time, I havent wrote this much in a loooong time...
