That is weird. The garage insist that the switch is the only thing they've changed. Could it be a dual pole switch or something?

(yellow spot) to Body computer to tell car to put on rear wiper

M010 is the engine ECU, Andy. ;)

Since the start of the thread I've wondered if it was actually the switch, but without any wiring diagrams to back it up, I've kept quiet. But here's how I believe it works-

I would have guessed that the Dualogic ECU also knows what gear is selected via the potentiometers in the selector mechanism, including reverse. This data is sent via CAN to the Body Computer for use by other nodes (instrument cluster for gear indication, for example). Because the "reverse gear selected" data is now already in the BC, it stands to reason it would be programmed to use this info to activate the rear wiper.

I suspect the reverse gear switch (an arse to get to- mounted horizontally under the gearbox end-mount, accessed through the inner wing) is merely used as a "back-up" or confirmation for the advanced features, and it's primary use is just to switch one bulb on or off.

The picture of an injector on it was a clue. :)

The Body Computer/fusebox are clipped together to essentially form one component, so are collectively known as B001 and usually shown linked together in wiring diagrams. IIRC
