Never had cause to try it since buying the car. Bought an iphone charger and discovered my cigarette lighter does not work. As I am heavily reliant on satnav when out of my local area this is a nightmare.

Any ideas?

Buy a map book ;-)

Chances are its your fuse (some adaptors can blow the fuse if the side contacts are too close to the end) long term fix is to replace it with a "power socket (as fitted in newer GP's and Evos unless you have the smokers pack..

Anyway first your going to need a pack of fuses (miniature yellow 20amp Blade type)

VERY expensive in halfords

far cheaper from a motorfactors or Ebay

Its fuse F31 if you have the old fuse box (newer cars from about 2010 onwards have a moddified box now)

if its the old box the lid can be a pain to get back on BUT it must be fitted correctly check the seal is in correctly too as if you dont get the cover back on it can cause major problems if water gets in...

the fuse is in this pic with the arrow pointing which one

oh no someone has pinched them ;)

You will find a few gaps if yours is a lower spec car such as an active Fuses and or relays will have been left out for things such as Air conditioning controls, Front fog lights, Rain sensitive windscreen wipers, rear fag socket, and a host of other things the top end cars get... (its the same fuse box used across the range)

Well it wasn't the fuse changed it and still no cigarette lighter. Am desperately going to need my satnav for a trip shortly. Any more ideas? thanks

ha i'm blind as a bat Andy but all's well that ends well I can use my satnav now so I won't be lost in Scotland this weekend.

My fuse box is a bit different in the picture posted ... Instead of Yellow the fuse is Blue and its 15 not 20 ? is this the cigarette fuse in my car ? My car is 2009 Fiat Grande Punto 1.2 l

Hi guys I have a fiat Grande punto 59 plate before I got it my uncle said that the cigerette lighter was working and it is not working with me i have replaced the fused and checked the wires they are find but it is still not working I got a car tester from my college teacher to try that can someone plz help me and tell me why it is not working and there is nothing in it or that

Here's the drawing, fuse is #54 in the engine bay connection box. As you can see there is also a relay involved in this circuit, most likely switching other things also ...

BRs, Bernie
