Hi iv had a search but couldnt find anything relevent to my problem, I have a 2006 grande punto and my spare remote key fob doesnt work. The key blade opens the car doors and let me turn the ignition but the padlock symbol on the dash wont dissapear and the car wont turn over. Also the buttons which remotely open the doors and boot dont work. Iv replaced the battery but now at a loss, is there a way to code the key my self?? and ideas please let me know. Thanks. :D

I think it is a dealer job, after all we wouldn't want any old geezer able to make keys for our cars would we.

not necessarily a dealer job! i programmed a new key to a 2004 Punto last week. The car owner had lost her only key so she bought a new key from Fiat along with the pin code.

A small local garage tried to help her out with it but they couldn't do it so called me. Key was programmed & car was running within 2mins of me getting there!

I also wouldn't class myself as "any old geezer!"

Thanks for your replys, i dont have the car code :( all i have is 2 remote keys. One works fine but the other doesnt remotley unlock or lock the car. It lets me unlock the doors and turn ignition via the key blade but car wont start.

actionman37 can your MVP programmer get a code off the car? Do i need the code at all to program the key?

Thanks for your help....
