For some reason, the electronic connectors for the tail lights on the right have become corroded and causing all the right rear lights from working, or on some occasions, the two running lights work as the right indicator.

I have attached pictures of the problem. I'm baffled as to how water could have got inside the connector to cause it to corrode as it has? Is it possible for me to replace the wiring myself?

Cheers,
Jamie (y)

I had the same problem, just cleaned and scraped all metal surfaces as clean as possible and sprayed with WD40 ater reconnectioning, I have to remove light assy and seal all around now the leccy prob seems sorted.

I don't think you need new connectors, just give a good clean at those and isolate them after.

Hi guys,

I have this issue on my Fiat Stilo, one of my pins has corroded which has lead to dodgy brake light performance.

I have some contact cleaner and a nail file.

Going to go at it tomorrow. Any do's and dont's?

Crikey.. thats an old thread..

Power off..

Use something to ensure all the abrasive is flushed out of the connector.

Yes, something like pressurized NOx can, just be aware you might be caught laughting @ your tail lights like an idiot ... ;-)

Cheers, Merry Xmas, Bernie
