Hi guys,

I'm a big rally fan and would love to make my punto look like a rally car :D

I found the S2000 Body kit on the web but unfortunatly I would have to take out a mortgage to afford the thing! ... I could however, afford the spoiler :D ... but I wouldn't want to buy it in case it looks far too big without the rest of the kit :O

Also i'm going to lower my car on the eibach pro-kit and get myself a nice exhaust system :)

Want to put the rally name stickers on the back windows too but I don't know if that would look poor or not :O

Wish I could just afford to buy an S2000 Punto lol

i also love rally style cars and i have done it to several of my previous cars but imo the grande does not pull it off unless you spend thousands. With just a set of rally mudflaps on an lowered it looks poo (n)
trust me ive tried it. To make it look proper rally you need to buy proper rally style wheels, flaps, stripped out with a cage, rally graphics etc

Magic - Dude, I have the same fecking car as you!

- and thanks guys, yeah I was a co-driver for a few years and know that a stripped out car is not comfy at all :p lol I was trying to use some of my old contacts in the rally world to let me get my car wrapped with all their sponsors etc. and I saw some O.Z Wheels, the ones on rally cars, for £900 wrapped in parelli's. they were 15" though :O lol

Might just steal a rally car when at knockhill this weekend :D lol ... no one will notice :p

And yes it probably would keep the car on the ground :)

Shoulda seen me driving down the M8 into the wind the other day, when i went over 50 the steering went light :O

Then some dude in a mega low nova and a halfords exhaust went flying past me at about 80, he is probably dead now :)

If you really wanna go rally, heres a list of mods I would do for a start (money no object obvs ;) )

-2.0l 16v turbo engine conversion (coupe engine?? Is possible will find sources)
-Full carbon body kit and panels; flared and shortened arches, S2000 style spoiler, front bumper and rear.
-strip out rear, carpets OEM seats and non essential dash and electrics.
- plumbed in fire extinguisher
- full race spec cage (welded not bolted)
- race spec rally seats with head restraints and 5/6 point harneses attached to rear floor
- PVC windows
- rear red flashing light on the central line of the car.
- Lightwieght OZ rally alloys (would go for 16s to allow for gravel tyres)
- uprated or AM suspension (not just springs and dampers, full suspension arms and what not)
- Full straight through exhaust and custom 4-2-1 ceramic manifold
- Custom ECU with launch controlm (mega squirt?)
- low compression pistions and thick head gasket to allow for lower compression = higher boost pressure
- Anti-Lag system with adaptive boost controller and fuel reg.
- AM quick release steering wheel boss and wheel. No air bag.
- Full MSA registration and Log book

Thats all I can think of but Im 90% sure that to get a MSA logbook there is ALOT more that needs to be done to the car to get it up to legal rally standard. I know there is a couple of 1.4 rally series around the UK along with 1.0 rally "first" and Formula 1000 rallys. (Entering in 2013 as a co-driver with a mate in his "soon to be" "rally spec" 1.0 12v Corsa B)

But all in all, I wouldnt go half measures on rally spec'ing your car.
Spend some serious money, or just buy a sticker that obviously shows your interest in rallying ;)

Hope this helps :D

I know there is a lot of work,

As I said, I was a co-driver in the British Rally Challange :p ... pug 205 gti :D ... was quite a quick car for its age :)

Think ill stick with the usual mods :)

You know whats fun? :p

A Super 1000 :p (S1000) ... Accelerate like no other car on the planet lol

Guy i was co-driving for was building one and man it shifted :D ... didnt have a very high top speed though :O like 90 or less :p
