General Are Grande Puntos becoming the new Puntos?

Please don't start comparing insurance prices! There are 1000 different factors that make insurance different. Not just who has a remap and who doesn't.

I'm 17, no mods, £1700 on ikube  for the car in my sig, 4000miles a year (Ive done over that easily) passed in June so no NCB

Could be about £100 cheaper if i do pass plus, but I dont have the time or the money (n)

And what's wrong with having a 1.2 with a few mods? Seriously it's nothing near chavvy yet. I just like my car like this. And unfortunately I live in the worst place in the country for insurance. I'm 22 and drove for three years Ive never had an accident, never had a speeding ticket, never even had a parking ticket yet I have to pay £120pcm. I drive normally, I'm super fuel efficient, i dont throw it round corners like i drive a ferrari? so tell me how it's chavvy really? I don't get mommy or daddy on my insurance to help keep it cheap either , I live in my own house and pay my own ways. I'm sorry but it's as far from chavvy as you can get.

I can see it in 3 years time being like that, but at the moment I only see nice mods in Grande's really. No OTT body kits or anything like that. So it's not already happening and if it is, it ain't because of me.

They are so many grande punto's on the road I wouldn't be susprised if they become the new young drivers car. And in the middle of this decade we will see lots of chavy modded grande punto hitting the streets.

In the 90's, the ford fiesta and vauxhall nova was the car of choice by many young drivers and even in the noughties many a young driver seems to be driving around in modded 1.0 littre corsa's;) Because in 2006 fiat launched the grande punto at a very cheap price, thousands were sold and thousands still remain.

They seem to be holding above the £3,000 mark though, or at least the majority are.

The old Puntos, old Corsas, old Clios etc are still towing the line on that front. Still think we've got at least a year left before the new versions of each start to fall in to the grasp of:

THE YOUNGER DRIVER.

I disagree, I reckon at least another 3 - 4 years from now we will see all the chavs driving them. I purposely saved my arse off to get my GP, I didn't want to have a silly little 90's Corsa/Fiesta so I saved and now I pay a million pounds for insurance and a million pounds on petrol but I don't care, yes I'm 17 but I don't have any mods and I just wanted a nice car!

Having a named driver on your policy with 15+ years no claims will help push your premium down! So more fool you for not taking advantage of that. I have both my parents on my policy and knock about £300 off. So what's wrong with having your parents on your policy???

How about my father passed away and my mother lives in Wales? Some of us don't get the luxury of things like that and I feel taking advantage of it is wrong. I have to work from the bottom up why not other people? And before you go off on one I'm not pointing fingers at anyone it was a general statement. And if you were at the opposite side of the situation e.g you had to pay stupid money for insurance on your own when others get it cheap because they happen to have parents that can and do do that you would feel the same. Would you not?
