Hi guys, i've got a problem with the punto. Came back yesterday after a 70 mile drive, parked up, went back 30 minutes later and the car won't start. Turning the key once; the dash lights up, diesel coil goes off etc but then when I turn the key to start the engine, it clicks and just dies. The battery's then out of action for a few hours (cant electronically lock the doors etc) but later on everything electronic will work again. But again; trying to start the engine shows the same problem. The green light on the battery in the engine bay is on meaning it's full so I suspect it's not a dud battery (it's a month old too). I literally have no idea so any help is greatly greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

A new battery you say, I'd be looking at the Alternator then.. I guess you've tried jump leads?

are the battery terminals still tight and secure?

I had this problem on mine. Needed a new battery. Its since done it again because i had a sub wired up. Check nothing draining the battery such as boot light staying on etc

Thanks for the useful replies guys turns out it was the positive wire that had come loose on the motorway.
