I had my car MOT'd and serviced yesterday (1.4 8v GPunto with the dualogic gearbox).
It's the first MOT and service I've had done on the car since buying it in April.

All was ok going in, but since the work has been done, sometimes while pulling away there is an odd kind of rubbing / rumbling / vibration sound while the clutch slips as it begins to bite.
Once the clutch is fully engaged the noise goes away.
It doesn't happen all the time either - just some of the time.

I know common sense would point to a clutch issue, but it seems like too much of a coincidence that it only started happening after an MOT and service - it had never done it before.

From the driver's seat it sounds as if the noise is coming from in front of your feet, but it's hard to tell.

Any ideas?

im buying a 07 grande punto, new old stock, 1.4 8v with dualogic
test drive my car yesterday just to make sure things are alright before taking it and found the same thing as you describe, no loud noise just vibration, but i was kinda gentle on the pedal.

happen on 1st gear only. it has 124km on the meter.

the dealer says all grande punto acts such way, but i dont recall such thing when i test drive thier 08 on the 1st day

i insist on changing the gear and dualogic oil but he says its ok to use? is that true? those oil been on that car for 5 years

i guess it meants its not normal for it to vibrate since no 1 encounter it before

I had this problem and like you assumed it was the clutch but realised it was the air filter hose being loose and vibrating/rubbing when the clutch was biting. just hold the hose in place as i think they moved it during the service.

oh...ill check that out

it was mostly felt through the fuel pedal tho

thanks for replying.
