@Elliot Ross: thats great news!

How long did it take to clean the throttle body? I may try that before ordering a map sensor.

Problem is i have no tools so takes that bit longer to find a time when my mate is free to help..

Make sure it is the correct one as there are many different types, the one I put a link to is for 1.2 puntos and 1.4 i believe. When i cleaned the throttle body it did help, however the grind was still there, just less often. When I put the MAP sensor on, no problems.

Right map sensor now on.

I'm not sure whether has worked yet as only started a couple of times.

However, I can not get rid of the engine management light.

Iv had the battery disconnected for hours (twice today) but it will not go out.

Could there be any other issue here?

Thank you in advance

strange

Did you do Anything else whilst under the bonnet? (reason im asking is people get a socket set in their hands and start fiddling with anything they can whilst they are at it which really causes confusion as you can imagine ;) )

was the MIL light on before you changed the sensor?

wondering if you have been unlucky and got a faulty one from the seller?

If you can get to Goole sunday morning i can plug it in and see whats going on? or any night next week bar Monday

if not if i come to Scarborough i keep a basic ELM in my car

No not at all mate.

1. went in changed sensor
2. shut bonnet leave for hour and halfd
3. start engine no probs, started fine no lights no nothing
4. drive to b & q (~5 mile)
5. start engine, engine management light on

Now has been on since.

My mate has a diagnostic tool which reads out the error code but im not sure if you just plug it in on the grande, can you confirm?

Oh and thanks for the offer to help, do appreciate it andy. I hate it when you try and fix something only to get another warning etc :(

Thanks andy,

Sam
