Technical Sticky Gearbox

hi all

hoping you guys can advise, my wife has an 07diesel Punto and this morning gear changes have become very "sticky/thick" (for want of a more technical description), it feels almost like your changing gears through treacle.

i can select gears fine, there is no crunching or grinding but its clearly not right.

Any advice or suggestions would be welcomed.

If its an 07 it'll be a grande punto?
an admin will move this to the grande section for you but should use that part of the site from now on

Where do you live and what have temps been like? Any evidence of leaking gearbox fluid?

Cheers Bredsticz, sorry yeah it dawned on me i had posted it in the wrong section while i contniued my internet search, so it would be great to have it moved as it is indeed a Grande.

as for location we are in the UK, and we have noticed nothing out of the ordinary. Apart from, i noticed a slightly higher pitched note at the top end of the revs just before she changed gear (this was a couple of days ago, the first time i have been in her car for a while and dont know if this is just a coincidence).

i did wonder if it needed fluid but dont know how to check?
