Hi all, I have a 2007 Punto. I'm a bit confused as to whether it has child locks fitted or not I'll explain..

There is actually a button on the dash that locks all the doors. They cannot then be opened from the outside of the car, but they can still be opened from the inside by someone just pulling any door handle .. Maybe that is the actual child lock and it isn't functioning properly?? Can anyone advise me?

child locks are useually a small switch or screw that you trun on the actual door next to the catch

Now you've lost me. Not a clue what I'm looking for lol .. do you need to activate the switch everytime you use the door then?

A child lock is normaly a tag or screw on the outside edge off the door, it provents the opener from opening the lock from inside but not from the outside, once the child lock is on it will stay on untill you take it off.

The switch is a central looking switch,locks all the doors so they can not opened from the outside.

Open the Rear Doors
On the door you will see what is the Mechanism which holds the door shut

there will be a small Hole which the key fits in
usually at the side is a sticker too telling you what position is what

I did a very quick google - I cam across this thread on another forum

And yes its a grande Punto
As 07 plate means it'll be a grande
the Punto Stopped in 06 as the grande started in 06 (Based on parkers)

The button on your dash tho is a lock doors - great in built up area's that are a little ""risky"" to help keep you safe - prevent Been hijacked or ****s opening your door for you

Just dont forget to leave them a crack of a window open and some water while you go shopping

Just make sure they dont keep repativly tugging hard on the lever because the door wont open

it does mean tho you have to let them loose.....
