Hi there. On january of this year i bought a gp active 1.4 8v... i could only afford the base model (no rims... no fog lamps... no nothing..) but it came with a/c :D and i really loved the body of the car ... so, i bought it

The original fog lamps are too expensive so i bought some off road aftermarket ones and start fooling around with them... opinions?

(sorry if my english is weird...im from Chile!)

they block like 2% of the radiator only :p so its fine... the only thing that worries me is that running them on a sunny day with lots of traffic makes the lights really hot! could they be blown faster than normally?

Why would they be turned on when it's sunny?

NO!!... but they could... they can be turned on only when you have the sidelights on. just as the original fog lamps :)

Gav do a search fitting Fog lights has been covered Many many times in the past on here I have uploaded into several threads my wiring diagram and list of parts needed...

One thing to note is if you do fit Fog lights in the place etche has You will Fall foul of the UK lighting regulations as front fog lamps must be mounted within 40 cm from the outside edge of the car.....

He can probably get away with it in his home country of Chile

Sorry for the late response. I removed the upper grill and solder the mountings to the steel bumper, then i painted it with anti corrosive spray paint (black). The wiring that i used was the one shown in the fog lights fitting guide in the grande punto guide section

The bumper is made of plastic, its not a feckin tank!

see the pics where he has mounted them John they are behind the bumper on the front "crash rail" not on the bumper itself since he is in Chile i would assume English isn't his first language but its far better than my Spanish

One thing i would say for any member planning on doing this if you can make a clamp up out of a U bolt and flat bar rather than welding Or if you must weld do as small an area as possible and as cool as you can to avoid the heat soak weakening the special steel Impact rail ( i certainly wouldn't like to drill it)
